An exciting opportunity to join a family run Cornish pasty company!
We are looking for a Pasty Preparation Assistant to join The Cornish Oven Pasty Team.
We are proud makers of the Cornish pasty and feel the time is right to add to the team. We are currently looking for a new member of our pasty production team to assist in the day-to-day activities over here at our main unit. We are needing a pasty preparation person and crimper. DO NOT WORRY IF YOU CANNOT CRIMP YET! We offer all the support needed to learn this very important Cornish skill.
This role can be fast paced mixed with heavy lifting at times so experience in manual labour is beneficial
Previous production experience is preferred but not essential. Must be able to take on the operational roles within the Pasty Prep Room.
The role includes...
Duties Include:
· Meat seasoning and mixing.
· Flexible and the ability to take on different roles throughout production.
· Vegetable mixes.
· Placing the meat or veg on the pastry circles.
· Learning to crimp.
· Glazing.
· Traying up pasties.
· Stock rotation.
· Cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards.
· General factory clean-down duties.
Skills:
· The ability to manage a varied workload.
· Positive attitude and ability to work well within a team
· Hands on approach with a strong work ethic.
We hope that this is a onetime opportunity, as we would like this person to stay on our journey as we grow as a company and take the Cornish Oven pasty to more areas within the county. As with most businesses here in Cornwall there are times when this person will be content with the day to day of a pasty production unit but also have the ability to step up during our busy summer months.
Training will be provided along with whites and appropriate PPE.
Job Type: Full Time and Permanent
Pay: £13.00
Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 6:30am – 15.15pm
