Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, metal, and other materials. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial buildings, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety. Applicants should possess a strong background in carpentry and related trades, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Duties
- Construct, install, and repair frameworks, fixtures, and fittings using hand tools and power tools
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements
- Measure, cut, assemble, and join materials accurately to specifications
- Perform welding and masonry tasks as required for specialised projects
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on existing structures, including roofing and other external features
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment safely during construction activities
- Assist with site preparation, including heavy lifting of materials and components
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and other tradespeople to ensure project completion within deadlines
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Joiner or in a similar carpentry role
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and masonry techniques
- Strong mechanical knowledge relevant to construction tasks
- Ability to perform roofing work and masonry tasks when required
- Experience with commercial driving is advantageous for transportation between sites
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and working in demanding environments
- Knowledge of health & safety standards within the construction industry
- Valid driving licence preferred but not essential; willingness to obtain if necessary
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry, masonry or related trades are desirable
