Upholstery Operative Role Job Spec
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Sewing Machinist to join our team.
The role involves working closely with the upholstery department, and helping to sew a wide range of furniture covers that may include for chairs, sofas and possibly other furniture pieces as this department expands.
Responsibilities:
- Sewing fabric components and covers to specification.
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard
- Operating industrial sewing machines, including Flatbed, Overlocking, and Walking Foot machines.
- Following production instructions where required.
- Inspecting finished products to ensure a high standard of quality and accuracy.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Working efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Reporting any machine faults or production issues to management.
- Working independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sewing Machinist is essential.
- Experience operating Flatbed and Overlocking sewing machines.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude.
- Ability to work accurately while maintaining productivity.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and use initiative.
- Positive and flexible approach to work.
- Ability to work to deadlines

Hours
Monday - Thursday 7am - 4.30pm
Friday - 7am - 1.30pm
1 hour lunch break
Open to discuss hours
Pay will be discussed upon interview as this will be dependent upon experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
