Job Summary
We are currently seeking a passionate, talented and experienced chef to join our team at the Italian Bakehouse in Broadstone, Poole. We are a growing group of unique, award-winning Italian restaurants, gastro pubs, cafes, and bakeries, based in Dorset, committed to delivering high-quality, fresh food and exceptional service to our guests.
Responsibilities:
As our pizza chef, you will be responsible for producing high-quality pizza's using our own sourdough pizza bases. We are heavily based upon Neapolitan style pizzas, so understanding pizza is essential as well as overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen. You will work closely with the kitchen team to develop new items, maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, monitor inventory levels, and order supplies. Other responsibilities include preparing food in a timely manner, managing food waste, and ensuring that all products meet quality and safety standards.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have previous experience working as a CDP or Sous Chef in a busy cafe or restaurant environment. You should have excellent cooking skills, attention to detail, and be able to work under pressure. A passion for food and customer satisfaction is also essential.
Desirable qualities:
- Previous experience as a pizza chef in a busy cafe or restaurant, with take away service
- Experience in street food concepts
- Experience with pizza, particularly Neapolitan style.
- Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of different techniques
- Able to maintain and follow instructions
- Creativity and ability to develop new items for the cafe menu
- Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
Working conditions:
We offer good working conditions and a friendly atmosphere. Opportunities for career progression and regular salary reviews are also available. The role is full-time permanent, with shifts typically being from 11:00 - 22:00. A competitive salary is available for this role, dependent on experience.
