Essential:
QCF /NVQ level II or II CCLD/Playwork or equivalent.
Applicants must be over 18 years’ old
Experience working in a voluntary or paid capacity with primary school aged children.
An interest in sporting activities.
A willingness to undertake additional training.

Job Description
The Out of Schools Assistant will be responsible for providing daily activities and ensuring the needs of children are being met within the Out of Schools Club.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the Out of School Club.
2. Help prepare the play areas for the children before they arrive and tidy up the playroom at the end of the session.
3. Assist the leader with planning weekly activity programme along with the children to meet their individual needs.
4. Take part and interact with the children during the session.
5. Listen, encourage and stimulate the children to take part in all activities provided.
6. Work alongside parents of special needs children to give full integration in the Club.
7. To engage as part of an effective team.
8. Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
9. Enforce agreed behaviour policy.
10. Undertake certain domestic jobs within the Club, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment and playroom etc.
11. Attend staff meetings and external training events which contribute to forward planning and enhancement of children’s experience at the Club.
12. Actively participate in the annual fundraising events.
13. Keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff learned in the course of the job.
14. Ensure that all activities and staff in the playroom comply with the child protection policy.
15. Work alongside the management, leader and staff team to ensure Playtime Out of Schools ethos is fulfilled.
16. Any other reasonable duties to ensure a safe and caring environment.
Salary and Conditions
18-20: £11.85 per hour
21+ £13.50 per hour
Part-Time Hours:
Monday – Friday
Contracts between the hours: 1.00pm-6.00pm 3-5 evenings per week
Additional hours may be available
Permanent Contract
Holidays: 20 days per year plus 10 Bank Holidays pro rata
Pay: £11.85-£13.50 per hour
