Tenant Support Worker
Location: London Hours: Full-time/ Part time
Pay: £27,000.00–£29,000.00 per year pro rata
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and proactive Tenant Support Worker to deliver high‑quality support to vulnerable adults and young people living in supported accommodation. This role is essential in ensuring residents receive consistent guidance, safeguarding oversight, and practical support to help them develop independence and maintain stable accommodation.
You will work closely with internal teams, managing agents, local authorities, and external support services to ensure that support delivery meets regulatory expectations and aligns with Supported Exempt Accommodation (SEA) standards.

Key Responsibilities
The Support Worker will be responsible for delivering person‑centred support and maintaining safe, compliant accommodation, including:
- Providing day‑to‑day support to residents based on their individual needs and support plans
- Conducting regular keywork sessions, welfare checks, and support reviews
- Supporting residents with developing independent living skills (budgeting, cooking, cleaning, appointments, etc.)
- Assisting residents to access education, employment, training, and community services
- Monitoring safeguarding concerns and escalating issues in line with organisational procedures
- Maintaining accurate support records, case notes, and incident logs
- Ensuring the property remains safe, clean, and compliant with housing standards
- Liaising with local authorities, social workers, and external agencies to coordinate support
- Encouraging positive behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement with support plans
- Supporting move‑ins, inductions, and tenancy sustainment activities
- Contributing to risk assessments, support plans, and compliance documentation
- Upholding organisational values and representing the service professionally
- Carrying out any other duties relevant to the role as required by management
Essential Requirements
- Experience in a support, housing, care, or community‑based role
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
- Understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and professional boundaries
- Ability to maintain accurate records and manage sensitive information
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confident working independently and using initiative
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to challenging situations
- Understanding of Supported Exempt Accommodation or supported housing environments
- Commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and resident wellbeing
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working with vulnerable adults, care leavers, or individuals with complex needs
- Knowledge of SEA regulatory requirements and housing legislation
- Experience delivering keywork sessions or structured support plans
- Familiarity with multi‑agency working and partnership coordination
- Experience handling safeguarding disclosures or incidents
- Understanding of trauma‑informed practice or strengths‑based approaches
- Ability to contribute to service improvement and efficient ways of working
