Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations within our childcare facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality childcare, and creating a safe, nurturing environment for children. This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a passion for early childhood education. The Nursery Manager will play a vital role in fostering a positive atmosphere that supports children's development and well-being.
Duties
- Lead and manage nursery staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement educational programmes aligned with early childhood development standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe environment for children and staff.
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians through effective communication and regular updates on children's progress.
- Organise daily activities, outings, and special events to promote learning and socialisation.
- Oversee administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and resource management.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety within the nursery premises.
- Drive the nursery’s vision forward by fostering a positive team culture centred on child-centred care.
Qualifications
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
- Extensive experience working with children, ideally within early childhood education environments.
- Strong understanding of childcare regulations, health & safety standards, and best practices in early years education.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience with nursery administration including record keeping and compliance documentation.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies when necessary.
