Fitters Mate – Timber Windows & Doors
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Fitters Mate to join our installation team, working on high-quality timber window and door projects across London.
This is a hands-on role working alongside experienced fitters, assisting with the removal and installation of timber windows and doors, as well as the finishing and making-good work required after installation.
Previous experience in construction, joinery, decorating or a similar trade is preferred, although we are willing to train the right person. Experience with sanding, painting and general finishing work would be particularly beneficial.
The Role
You will work alongside one of our experienced window and door fitters and will be expected to learn all aspects of the installation process.
Your duties will include:
- Assisting with the removal of existing windows and doors
- Helping prepare openings ready for installation
- Learning how to correctly install timber windows and doors
- Assisting with external making good, including sand and cement pointing
- Applying external silicone and sealants
- Internal making good using Easifill and other fillers
- Using wood fillers and carrying out timber repairs where required
- Sanding and preparing surfaces ready for finishing
- Painting and touching up timberwork
- Applying internal silicone and sealants
- Protecting customers' homes during installation
- Keeping the working area clean and tidy
- Loading and unloading tools, materials, windows and doors
- Learning how to complete installations to a high standard
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience within construction, joinery, decorating or window fitting is preferred
- Painting and sanding experience would be an advantage
- Good attention to detail
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Hardworking with a positive attitude
- Able to work well as part of a two-person installation team
- Takes pride in producing clean, high-quality work
- Comfortable working in customers' homes and maintaining a professional manner
This position would suit someone who already has some practical trade experience and is looking to develop into a skilled window and door fitter.

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
