Looking for flexible cleaning work in your local area?
Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove is looking for Self-Employed Domestic Cleaners and Home Helpers to support older people in their own homes across West Sussex and Brighton & Hove.
We are particularly keen to hear from people based in Horsham, Crawley & Mid Sussex area, where demand for our service is currently high.
About the Role
You'll help older people remain independent by providing practical support, including:
- Domestic cleaning and household tasks
- Shopping and errands
- Light home help duties
- Companionship and social support
This is a rewarding role where you'll make a real difference in your local community while working flexible hours that fit around your existing commitments.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for reliable, caring and professional individuals who:
- Enjoy helping others
- Have good cleaning and household management skills
- Can work independently
- Have good communication skills
- Can commit to a minimum of 6 hours per week
- Can travel to clients within their local area
Previous experience as a Domestic Cleaner, House Cleaner, Home Helper, Support Worker, Care Assistant or Community Support Worker would be beneficial but is not essential. We welcome applications from people who are reliable, caring and motivated to help others, even if they haven't worked in a similar role before.
Important Information
This is a self-employed role. You will be responsible for:
- Your own Tax and National Insurance contributions
- Maintaining appropriate Public Liability Insurance
Successful applicants will be subject to DBS and reference checks.
