Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team here at Viva Blackpool. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, with a focus on food safety and production. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious dishes, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and hygiene are maintained. This role requires creativity, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
- Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
- Monitor food presentation and portion sizes to ensure consistency and quality.
- Assist in training new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant industry.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen management practices.
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, and presentation is essential.
- Previous experience in supervising or managing a team is highly desirable.
- A relevant culinary qualification or certification will be an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
