Hailey House Residential Care Home – Maldon, Essex
We are looking for a caring, reliable and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at Hailey House Residential Care Home.
This is a full-time, permanent position working as part of a rota. Applicants must be able to work a mixture of day and night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. Shifts are not fixed to particular days each week and will be allocated according to the needs of the home and the cover required.
Previous experience working in a care setting is preferred but not essential, as full training and support will be provided. More importantly, we are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in supporting older people and who will treat our residents with kindness, dignity and respect.

About the Role
As a Care Assistant, you will support residents with their individual care needs while encouraging independence, choice and involvement wherever possible.
Your duties will include:
- Providing person-centred care in accordance with individual care plans.
- Supporting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, bathing and toileting.
- Supporting residents with continence needs sensitively and respectfully.
- Assisting residents with mobility, transfers and repositioning, using appropriate equipment where required.
- Supporting residents at mealtimes and with eating and drinking where assistance is required.
- Providing companionship, reassurance and emotional support.
- Supporting residents living with dementia and responding appropriately to their individual needs.
- Observing residents' wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns appropriately.
- Completing care records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Supporting residents to maintain their dignity, privacy, independence and personal choices.
- Helping to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents.
- Working closely with colleagues and contributing positively as part of the care team.
- Following safeguarding, infection prevention and control, health and safety and other care home policies and procedures.
- Undertaking all required training and keeping mandatory training up to date.

Previous experience in residential care, dementia care or a similar care environment would be an advantage, but experience is not essential and full training will be provided.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time position working on a rota basis.
The role involves a mixture of day shifts and night shifts. The number and pattern of each will vary depending on the needs of the home, staffing requirements and cover needed.
Applicants should therefore only apply if they can work flexibly across both day and night shifts.
Training
Full training will be provided, including the mandatory training required for the role. Successful applicants will be expected to complete and maintain all training required by the home.
