Andy Whitelaw Joinery are a well known and trusted company, specialising in everything from door and window installations to bespoke made joinery, kitchens, extensions, specialist glazing, and much more. We have extensive knowledge of the trade and are trusted in both the residential and commercial market, regularly carrying out works for the local council, police, schools, and campsites.
The Role
We’re looking for a Bench Joiner to join our workshop team. You’ll be involved in manufacturing various bespoke joinery pieces, working closely with other members of the team.
The ideal applicant will possess a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience in manufacture and assembly, ensuring precision and attention to detail in all tasks undertaken.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture bespoke joinery pieces from drawings
- Use hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and efficiently
- Prepare, sand, and finish components ready for assembly or spraying
- Assist with loading, handling, and moving materials, including heavy lifting
- Support occasional on-site installations with other members of the team
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace
- Be compliant with internal health, safety & environmental regulations & procedures
Skills & Experience
- Experience in joinery, carpentry, fabrication, or assembly (workshop or site-based)
- Confident using hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers, etc.)
- Comfortable with power tools (drills, sanders, saws, etc.)
- Good attention to detail
- Organised and able to work as part of a team
- Physically capable of manual work and heavy lifting

Further Details
· PPE and uniform are provided
· Working hours are 7.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday
· 28 Days paid holiday per year including bank holidays
· Weekly Paid
· Company Pension
· Permanent, Full-time
Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
