Support Children from Traumatic Backgrounds in a residential children's home.
We are recruiting for a Support Worker to join one of the region’s leading child-centred care providers.
You will work within a warm, nurturing residential setting, supporting children and young people who may have experienced trauma or who have autism, learning disabilities, social, emotional and mental health needs, or additional behavioural and emotional support requirements.
Every child is different, so we are looking for compassionate, resilient and dependable people who can help young people feel safe, valued and supported to achieve positive outcomes.
Experience within care, education, healthcare or support work would be beneficial, although applicants from a range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The Role
As a Day Support Worker, you will provide practical care, guidance and emotional support to children and young people living within a residential home.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Helping children and young people feel safe, supported and included
- Maintaining positive routines and a calm, nurturing home environment
- Building trusting and consistent relationships
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation, independence and social development
- Responding calmly and professionally to behaviours that may challenge
- Encouraging participation in education, activities, hobbies and community opportunities
- Working closely with families, carers, colleagues and external professionals
- Promoting safeguarding, dignity, wellbeing and positive outcomes at all times
