Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances to ensure optimal functionality.
- Service heating systems such as boilers, radiators, and thermostats with precision and care.
- Conduct gas safety checks and install gas appliances in compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to assemble or modify system components as needed.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large equipment or materials during installations or repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical issues through thorough inspection and apply mechanical knowledge to resolve problems efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and system conditions for compliance and future reference.
- Collaborate with clients to assess needs and provide expert advice on system upgrades or replacements.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a plumbing, heating, or gas engineer in commercial or residential settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in installing and repairing plumbing and heating systems.
- Skilled in soldering, assembly work, and using hand tools and power tools effectively.
- Familiarity with basic math for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting purposes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license with experience in commercial driving preferred for site visits.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards including gas safety regulations is essential.
