Siemens Mobility is seeking an experienced Senior Protection & Control Design Engineer to join our Rail Infrastructure – Electrification business. Reporting to the Protection & Control Principal Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality protection and control designs across major railway electrification projects throughout the UK. Working as part of a specialist engineering team, you will support the full project lifecycle from concept development and bid support through to commissioning and entry into service.
Must haves:

Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline

Strong understanding of three-phase and 25kV railway protection principles, fault analysis and protection philosophy development.

Experience configuring, implementing, testing and troubleshooting protection systems, including IEC 61850, RTU and SCADA solutions.

Knowledge of Network Rail, British and international standards together with an understanding of project safety requirements.

Experience supporting the full project lifecycle, including design, construction, testing, commissioning and stakeholder management activities.

Commercial awareness with the ability to work effectively within project, contract and delivery constraints.
