Your Duties:
- To be responsible for Fire Safety Management of a designated portfolio of premises, working collaboratively with internal departments and external organisations to ensure a customer-focused service.
- To fulfil the role of a competent person with sufficient training, experience and knowledge to undertake Fire Risk Assessments, identifying hazards and risks to relevant persons and producing appropriate risk reduction solutions within a Fire Safety Action Plan.
- To ensure that Action Plans arising from Fire Risk Assessments are delivered, managed and updated within agreed timeframes, including completing assigned remedial actions and proactively progressing actions assigned to others to reduce fire risk to as low as reasonably practicable.
- To manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the operational delivery of Fire Safety works via contractors, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- To work collaboratively with team members to achieve team and departmental objectives and KPIs.
- To provide advice to internal stakeholders on Fire Safety technical matters, including statutory obligations, Building Regulations and the application of National and European Technical Standards.
- To monitor the performance of Fire Safety contractors, including attending and contributing to monthly performance meetings, and escalating issues of non-compliance or poor performance where required.
- To carry out consultation with stakeholders such as local authority representatives, tenants, staff and community representatives on Fire Safety matters.
- To make recommendations to management where significant fire safety risks are identified or where immediate action is required to prevent loss of life, injury, property damage or potential prosecution.
- To contribute to the design, development and delivery of internal and external Fire Safety training.
- To assist in the preparation of reports for Health & Safety Committees and other assurance forums.
- To undertake continuous professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practice and Fire Safety legislation.
- To attend training courses and seminars as required to support professional development and departmental objectives.
- To issue works Task Orders via the Housing Executive IT system, including cost allocation, prioritisation, approving variations and authorising invoices within delegated authority.
- To monitor and manage complaints, resolving issues and identifying trends where appropriate.
- To act as a focal point for general Fire Safety enquiries as directed by the Fire Safety Manager.
Your Profile:
Essential Criteria:
- A Fire Safety and/or construction-related qualification.
- 1–5 years’ relevant experience in a Fire Safety or similar environment.
Other:
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams and departments.
- Willingness to travel regularly to sites as required.
Additional Information:
- Full time, Temporary.
- 37 hours per week.
- Office-based role with regular travel to site, with some home working.
- A Basic Access NI Check is required.
