The Role
We're looking for a high-energy shop worker to help run our first site in Spitalfields, mainly on weekends and evenings when the site is busiest. This is not a passive support role — you're active baking, engaging and helping make the site work commercially, operationally, and culturally.
You'll move between baking and finishing product, serving and selling to customers. You are part operator, part salesperson, part brand presence.
What You'll Be Responsible For
1. Product & Operations
- Assist with baking, filling, and finishing pastries to Junkies standards
- Maintain consistency, cleanliness, and speed during service
- Support stock flow, prep, and waste control
- Bring a keen eye for presentation — product and displays should always look their best
- Help ensure the product is something you're proud to serve every time
- Prep for busy periods during calmer parts of the day
2. Customer Experience & Direct Sales
- Serve customers with energy, clarity, and confidence
- Explain the product, engage with customers in a meaningful way
- Actively sell — explain the product simply, handle objections, drive purchase
- Upsell boxes, bundles, and pairings where appropriate
- Keep service fast, sharp, and human
3. Community & Brand Presence
- Help create a sense of energy and belonging around the site
- Recognise regulars, build familiarity, and encourage repeat visits
- Contribute to workshops, small moments, and in-store activity
4. Sampling & Account Management
- A part of this role will be actively sampling with co-working spaces and local businesses
- This could grow into an account management role
Who You Are
- High energy — comfortable working on your feet in a fast-paced environment
- Happy switching between baking, serving and sampling
- Naturally good with people — direct, warm, and observant
- Organised and efficient – able to work to systems
- Not afraid to sell and engage with people
- Detail-oriented when it comes to product and presentation
- Curious and willing to learn, especially on the baking side
- Reliable — the site should run properly with you there
- Available to work weekends and evenings, which make up most of this role

This is:
- A hands-on, physical role
