Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable highly skilled and certified Swimming Pool Engineer to join our small, friendly, busy, professional, well established, experienced team, based in Curdridge, just outside Southampton, to help with our ever growing client base, in and around Hampshire. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintaining, repairing, and refurbishment of swimming pools, to ensure optimal performance and safety, for both our private customers and those within the county’s schools.
Due to the nature of our work, we require the applicant to be able to pass an Enhanced DBS Check, as well as hold a Full UK Driving Licence, and be prepared to spend a proportion of any day commuting from site to site across the Hampshire area of which we cover.
The ideal candidate will at times, also be expected to work across other areas of the business including mechanical maintenance of heating and plumbing, pipework and fitting along with a general all round practical knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs.
This is a basic 40hr p/w full time position, with the addition of overtime at various busy times throughout the year, particularly during the Summer months and School holidays.

Duties
- As a pool plant operative, you’ll get involved in a variety of practical tasks, conducting and overseeing regular operations, routine inspections and maintenance of swimming pool equipment, including pool pumps, dosing units, chlorination units, filtration, heating and circulation.
- Perform water testing and treatment to ensure water quality meets health and safety regulations.
- Performing regular investigations and recording inspection results and readings accurately, and maintaining detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and installations.
- Act promptly to diagnose and repair faults within pool operations and escalate when and where necessary to efficiently minimise downtime.
- Install new pool equipment and upgrade existing systems in accordance with safety standards and client specifications.
- Provide technical advice to clients regarding system operation and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Swimming Pool Engineer.
- National Pool Plant Operators Certification is essential
- Strong understanding of plumbing and water chemistry relevant to swimming pools.
- Experience with modern pool automation systems is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, technical expertise with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues promptly.
- Good literature and basic computer skills, to maintain daily work and inspection sheets, as well as completing e-Learning requirements.
- A valid UK driving licence and driving experience is essential for site visits and client meetings.
- Candidates should be driven and possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail and be reliable, punctual, self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills, and must be able to work within a team or on your own and be committed and have a passion for delivering exceptional service within the swimming pool industry.
