Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils to ensure a hygienic workspace
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients under supervision
- Support the kitchen team in organizing supplies and stock to ensure smooth daily operations
- Ensure all waste is disposed of properly and that the kitchen remains tidy at all times
- Help with setting up and breaking down workstations before and after service shifts
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment for all staff
- Support serving staff during busy periods by providing timely assistance when needed
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or kitchen environments preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food hygiene standards
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is advantageous, especially in fast-paced settings
- Strong organizational skills with an eye for cleanliness and detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with colleagues
