Summary
The Night Shift Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse and
production operations during the night shift, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked,
packed, and dispatched accurately, safely, and on time. The role involves leading and
motivating a team, maintaining high standards of health and safety and ensuring productivity
and quality targets are consistently met.
Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Supervise and coordinate all warehouse and production activities during the night shift
- Ensure inbound and outbound operations run efficiently & all SLA’s
- Monitor workflow and allocate labour to meet daily volume and priority requirements
- Ensure stock is handled, stored, produced, dispatched and recorded accurately using
warehouse systems
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate and manage warehouse and production operatives on shift
- Conduct shift briefings, communicate targets, and provide clear instruction
- Monitor performance, address issues promptly and provide coaching and support
- Assist with training, onboarding, and development of new team members
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Always Enforce Health & Safety policies and safe working practices
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, site rules, and legal requirements
- Carry out safety checks and report accidents, incidents, or near misses
- Promote a strong safety culture across the night shift team
Quality & Productivity
- Ensure picking, packing, and loading accuracy to minimise errors and returns
- Monitor productivity, attendance, and timekeeping
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and report recommendations
- Address performance or conduct issues in line with company procedures
Reporting & Communication
- Complete shift reports, handovers, and KPI updates
- Communicate effectively with other supervisors, managers, and support teams
- Escalate operational or staffing issues as required
Skills and Competencies
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
- Strong communication and people management skills
- Ability to work independently and make decisions during night shifts
- Experience working night shifts in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of WMS systems and stock control
- Basic IT skills (MS Office, reporting systems)
- Reliable, organised and detail-oriented
- Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving skills
- Safety-conscious and quality-driven
Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year
