Overview
We are looking for volunteers to support Early Years children between the age of 2 and 5, with special needs on a 1-1 basis in Early Years settings across Bolton for one morning or afternoon per week.
AS IT IS COMING TO THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR THESE POSITIONS WILL START IN SEPTEMBER.
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated volunteers to support children with special needs in their early years. This rewarding role involves assisting children with their daily activities, fostering a nurturing environment, and promoting inclusive play. Volunteers will gain valuable experience working with young children in a supportive setting, contributing positively to their development and well-being.
You may be:

- A parent of an SEN child who can use their knowledge to support others

- A retired resident of Bolton looking to spend time and support in the community
All you need is a spare morning or afternoon available each week.
Your support will be carried out within an Early Years setting, working under the direction of the Nursery staff.
We have a number of positions in all areas of Bolton, including Tonge Moor, Astley Bridge, Breightmet, Farnworth, Belmont Road, Kearsley, Sharples, Heaton, Deane, Great Lever, Bradshaw, Harwood, Westhoughton, Little Lever, Darcy Lever, Horwich, Smithills, Crompton and Halliwell.
Candidates should possess strong communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Good communication in English is required.

Role Description
- Engage in educational activities that cater to the developmental needs of children aged 2-5
- Support early years staff in organising and implementing educational activities tailored to children's developmental stages
- Assist with supervision and engagement ofchildren with special needs during play, learning activities, and daily routines
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children
- Communicate effectively with children, team members to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare
- Support children in developing social, emotional, and motor skills through engaging activities
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting young children's growth and learning
- Previous nursery experience or qualifications in early childhood education will be advantageous but not essential
- This position provides experience for those passionate about early childhood development while contributing positively to our community.
