We are looking for a part time or full time payroll assistant to join our busy payroll team. You will be responsible for your own list of clients, processing payroll end to end. We are looking for someone with a minimum of two years’ experience within a payroll team, preferably within a professional firm.
The role will involve:
- Preparation of weekly, fortnightly, monthly and annual payrolls for a wide variety of clients covering all aspects of payroll
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, including tax codes, National Insurance, statutory payments and pension schemes (Auto-Enrolment)
- Knowledge of payroll reconciliation and reporting
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to develop and maintain client contact and relationships
- Experience of Pay Circle and Iris Payroll Professional (Star) payroll would be advantageous
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
