Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team and drive our success forward! Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in optimal condition for each journey
- Load, secure, and unload cargo on flatbed trailers with precision, ensuring all items are properly fastened for safe transit
- Plan efficient delivery routes to meet deadlines while optimizing fuel consumption and driving time
- Complete accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery confirmations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues on the road
- Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with clients, colleagues, and other road users at all times
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed loads and delivery routes
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance standards for large vehicle operation
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as securing loads on flatbeds and performing vehicle inspections
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or weekends if required
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude toward customer service
