Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Operative with a valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring accurate and timely receipt, storage, and despatch of goods. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Goods Receiving: Accurately receive, unload, and inspect incoming goods, checking for discrepancies or damage and logging them into the warehouse management system.
- Storage & Organisation: Safely and efficiently store goods in designated locations within the warehouse, optimising space and accessibility.
- Order Picking & Packing: Accurately pick and prepare orders for despatch according to company procedures and customer requirements.
- Loading & Dispatch: Load outgoing vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring all documentation is correct.
- Forklift Operation: Operate various types of Forklift Trucks (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach, safely and competently for moving, stacking, and retrieving goods.
- Inventory Management: Assist with regular stock counts and maintain accurate inventory records. Report any stock discrepancies immediately.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised warehouse environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily checks on FLT equipment and report any faults or maintenance needs.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team to achieve daily operational targets and support colleagues.
- Adherence to Procedures: Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Operative.
- FLT Licence: Valid and in-date Forklift Truck (FLT) licence (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach, VNA - specify as appropriate).
- A strong understanding and commitment to health and safety regulations within a warehouse setting.
- Meticulous attention to detail for accurate picking, packing, and inventory management.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for documentation and record-keeping.
Preferred Skills (Desirable)
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
- Basic IT skills
Salary: £13.50ph
Hours: Monday - Friday 40 hour week 7.30-16.00
As the site is not easily accessible by public transport, own transport is essential.
