Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays (4-5 hours per day)
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will assist with basic food preparation, cleaning, and organisational tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality sector, particularly those looking to develop skills related to food service, cooking, and restaurant operations.
Barista and cooking work will also be offered if willing to learn.
Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by organising supplies and ensuring workstations are clean and tidy
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, surfaces, and storage spaces
- Ensure waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed
- Help with stock organisation and inventory checks as required
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment
Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking techniques is desirable
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment
