Duties
- Support and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Oversee daily food production, ensuring consistency and quality across all menu items
- Prepare a variety of dishes, demonstrating advanced cooking techniques and culinary expertise
- Manage the organisation of ingredients, supplies, and equipment to optimise workflow
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations
- Develop new recipes and menu items in collaboration with management
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and control waste to minimise costs
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies within the kitchen environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of current culinary trends and techniques
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional team management skills with the ability to motivate staff
- Previous experience in food production and restaurant service is advantageous
- Formal culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not essential
