Production project programme manager
Role Purpose
The Production Programme Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, coordination and development of ESG’s Production Project Management team and for maintaining operational control of the live project portfolio from technical readiness through production, logistics, installation and completion.
1. Production Project Management Team Leadership
- Directly manage and support the PPM team, setting clear priorities, balancing workloads and providing coaching and guidance to promote effective planning, strong budget management, timely completion of actions and ownership of project delivery.
- Support PPMs in proactively identifying and resolving operational matters at the earliest opportunity, ensuring Production receives clear, complete and accurate information.
3. Project Budget, Labour & Material Control
- Work with PPMs to maintain active oversight of labour hours, material usage, consumables, rework, waste and forecast costs against approved project budgets.
- Promote early identification of cost pressures, allowing appropriate actions to be agreed and implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
- The PPM team is responsible for monitoring labour hours and material usage; Procurement is responsible for achieving best-value material purchasing; and the CSM team is responsible for subcontract commercial management, client variations and scope changes.
5. Weekly Contract & Entitlement Review
- Ensure PPMs contribute accurate, up-to-date operational records and complete agreed actions arising from the weekly review.
8. RAG, Meetings, Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Use portfolio data to identify opportunities to improve budget performance, quality, technical coordination, procurement lead times and production efficiency.
Decision-Making Authority
- Set priorities for PPMs and balance workloads across the team.
- Support the development and implementation of project recovery plans and escalate projects to Amber or Red where appropriate.
Key Performance Indicators
- Continued improvement in project readiness, planning, budget control and the quality of information provided to Production.
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
