This is a permanent, full-time, daytime role working Monday to Friday and offers a salary up to £50,000.00 per annum. It follows a hybrid working model, with three days in the office and two days working from home each week.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Reporting into the UK Accounting Manager, the role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The role plays a key part in delivering timely and reliable information to support the business decision making.
Support the month-end close process, including preparing and posting journals such as prepayments, accruals, and depreciation across 4 legal entities
Take a key role in preparing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
Assist in strengthening financial controls and maintaining compliance with external stakeholders (e.g. HMRC, ONS)
Support and help coordinate the statutory audit process, working closely with the UK Accounting Manager
Prepare and submit VAT returns for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
Manage payroll postings within the accounting system, ensuring all recharges are correctly captured
Assist with corporation tax and deferred tax calculations, including quarterly payments on account
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function
Support the wider finance team with AP/AR queries, reconciliations, and ad-hoc tasks as needed
Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring correct capitalisation, classification, and depreciation
Profile:
Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent)
Strong experience supporting month-end close and preparing journal entries (e.g. accruals, prepayments, depreciation)
Proven ability to manage balance sheet reconciliations with accuracy and attention to detail
Good understanding of VAT, payroll accounting, and statutory audit processes
Experience working in a multi-entity environment
Strong knowledge of financial controls, compliance, and reporting requirements
Comfortable working with large data sets and financial systems
Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong communication skills, with the ability to support and collaborate across finance teams
Continuous improvement mindset, with involvement in budgeting, forecasting, or process enhancements
