About Gaia Powered
Gaia Powered is an ambitious, founder-led renewable energy start-up helping homeowners transition away from fossil fuels through intelligently designed solar, battery storage and heat pump systems.
We are building far more than an installation company. Our ambition is to create one of the UK’s leading renewable energy brands, combining premium installations, exceptional customer service, training and specialist recruitment.
This is an opportunity to join at an early and exciting stage of the journey.
You will work closely with the founders, help shape the sales function and play a genuine role in growing the business. We are looking for someone who wants more than just another sales job—someone who is excited by the chance to help build something significant.
As Gaia Powered grows, this role has the potential to develop into a senior sales or leadership position. For an exceptional person who makes a meaningful long-term contribution, there may also be future opportunities to earn shares in the business.
The Role
We are looking for an ambitious Solar & Battery Sales Advisor to guide homeowners from their initial enquiry through to agreeing their installation.
You will be provided with a regular flow of inbound leads generated through our marketing activity. The focus will be on understanding the customer, designing the right solution, presenting the value clearly and confidently securing the sale.
There is no traditional cold calling.
You will conduct telephone and video consultations, review customers’ energy usage and property information, design suitable solar and battery systems and present clear, accurate proposals.
You will take ownership of the customer relationship throughout the sales process, providing a knowledgeable, professional and consultative experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Conducting pre-booked telephone and video consultations with prospective customers
- Understanding customers’ energy usage, property and objectives
- Designing suitable solar PV and battery storage systems
- Producing and presenting accurate, tailored proposals
- Explaining system performance, savings, warranties and installation requirements
- Following up quotations and confidently overcoming customer objections
- Identifying opportunities for battery storage, EV chargers and other relevant upgrades
- Maintaining accurate customer records and follow-up activity within our CRM
- Working closely with the survey, design and installation teams
- Consistently achieving agreed sales and conversion targets
- Helping improve our sales process, customer journey and overall offering
- Contributing ideas as we build and scale the wider business
About You
You are commercially driven but understand that long-term success comes from recommending the right solution for the customer.
You are confident speaking with homeowners, comfortable discussing higher-value purchases and able to explain technical information clearly.
You take ownership, follow up consistently and do not wait to be told what needs to happen next.
You will thrive in a growing start-up environment where not every process has already been written and where your ideas, energy and performance can have a genuine impact.
You are likely to be someone who wants responsibility, progression and the chance to look back in several years and know that you helped build the business from an early stage.
You’re Likely to Be a Great Fit If You Have
- Previous sales experience and a track record of achieving targets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The confidence to manage customer objections and close higher-value sales
- Strong organisation and follow-up habits
- The ability to learn technical products quickly
- Experience using a CRM to manage leads and opportunities
- A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset
- The confidence to work in a fast-moving start-up environment
- A genuine interest in renewable energy and helping customers reduce their reliance on fossil fuels
Previous experience in the UK residential solar and battery storage market would be beneficial, but it is not essential. Full product and system training will be provided to the right person.
Why Join Gaia Powered?
- Join an ambitious renewable energy start-up at an early stage
- Help shape the sales function rather than simply inherit an existing process
- Work directly with the founders
- Receive a strong pipeline of inbound customer enquiries
- Earn uncapped commission linked directly to your performance
- Progress into a senior sales or leadership role as the company grows
- Gain training across solar, battery storage and wider renewable technologies
- Have a genuine voice in how the business develops
- Potentially access future share opportunities for exceptional long-term contribution
- Build something meaningful with significant growth potential
Start-up life is not for everyone.
It requires flexibility, accountability, resilience and a willingness to get involved beyond a narrow job description. In return, you will have the opportunity to make a visible impact, progress quickly and become an important part of the company’s future.
You may not meet every requirement listed above. If you believe you have the sales ability, attitude and ambition to succeed in this role, we would still like to hear from you.
