Job Accountabilities
- Liaise and support relevant department managers, supervisors and team leaders to drive a positive safety culture, identify and resolve health and safety issues and promote safe day to day working practices across the shop floor.
- Perform regular site walkarounds to engage, educate and drive dialogue on all aspects of health, safety and environmental.
- Champion, drive and assist with incident reporting, investigation, analysis and resolution across all sites.
- Regularly monitor contractors to ensure they are managed appropriately from approval, inductions and are conducting themselves safely when on-site.
- Support site teams with the development and review of risk assessments and safe systems of work, ensuring they are thorough, realistic and relevant.
- Liaise with external bodies, as appropriate to the role, such as contractors, suppliers, external audit bodies.
- Conduct health and safety inductions when required.
- Support the HSE Manager with conducting internal health and safety audits and ISO audits.
- Assist the HSE Manager in reviewing the performance of our ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 Management Systems through process review and auditing.
- Partake in sustainability initiatives through attending environmental review meetings, researching sustainability opportunities and liaising with key stakeholders.
- Support with the implementation of policy, plans and maintain procedures, including regular reviewing and auditing.
- Regularly seek out learning opportunities and attend health and safety related webinars and conferences where possible.
- Carry out any reasonable request as requested by any member of management within the reasonable scope of the role.
- Clean, valid UK driver’s license with access to vehicle.
- Communication and ability to influence
- Knowledgeable in SHE regulatory affairs
- Qualified to NEBOSH certificate or equivalent (desirable)
- Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 (desirable)
- Member of IOSH, IEMA (desirable)
