About the Role (self employed)
Prepped Academy is seeking a passionate and adaptable GCSE and A LEVEL Science Tutor to join our growing team in Claydon and/or Bury St Edmunds. The role involves delivering in-person tuition in science either 1:1 or in small groups of up to four students.
We support a wide range of learners, including those needing academic challenge, confidence-building, or additional support. Tutors must be capable of working independently, designing engaging and well-structured lessons that are tailored to individual learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective GCSE and A LEVEL science lessons.
- Teach in-person at our Claydon and/or Bury St Edmunds centre.
- Provide lessons during daytime and/or evening sessions, depending on student demand and your availability.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit the learning styles and academic goals of individual students and small groups.
- Track student progress and adjust lesson content as needed to ensure success.
- Communicate professionally with the Prepped Academy team and parents/carers as appropriate.
Essential Requirements
- Strong subject knowledge in GCSE and A LEVEL science.
- Experience teaching or tutoring students at GCSE and A LEVEL.
- Ability to plan, organise, and deliver high-quality lessons independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a flexible, student-centred approach.
- Reliability and professionalism when working with young people.
- Willingness to work in-person at or Claydon and/or Bury St Edmunds learning centre.
Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised tutoring/teaching qualification.
- Experience delivering GCSE and A LEVEL tuition in science.
- Knowledge of AQA, Edexcel, or OCR GCSE specifications.
- Experience supporting students with additional learning needs or varied educational backgrounds.

Pay: £23.00-£60.00 per hour
