About the role
This is a key role, leading the planning and operational delivery of the Health and Fitness programme at Leisure at. You will be leading your team to deliver a great experience and competitive offer to current and future users of our Health and Fitness facilities.
The Role – Health and Fitness Manager
- Own and develop the Centre’s health and fitness programmes and class timetable.
- Drive the commercial performance of the health and fitness facilities, contributing to the Centre’s overall objectives.
- Use your knowledge of leisure and sports sector trends and developments to propose new offers for the Health and Fitness programme
- Lead the operational management of the Health and Fitness Suite and programme to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard
- Manage and develop our Health and Fitness team to deliver exceptional service
- Take ownership of member engagement in our fitness and health programmes.
- Work with your peers in supporting the Head of Leisure to develop and enhance the programme offer and customer experience.
Our Requirements – Health and Fitness Manager
Qualifications
· Level 3 specialisms in gym and fitness qualifications.
· Level 3 gym instructor (or working towards).
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years working as a supervisor or leading teams in a fitness environment.
- A sound commercial understanding of sales and retention.
- Excellent knowledge of customer service skills and dealing with a range of customer needs.
- Knowledge of Health care and wellbeing partnerships and understanding of health referral schemes
- Exercise to music programmes.
- Personal training.

- Commercial awareness with a result mindset
- Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and colleagues
- Comfortable dealing with multiple tasks and prioritising appropriately to meet timelines
- Customer focussed and able to manage challenging customer situations proactively
- Proactive/self-motivated
- Works together with employees, colleagues and customers to resolve problems and implement change initiatives
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with current data protection legislation
- Report Writing
- Good IT skills
