Job Summary
We need someone to work at Valley End Cricket Club, GU248SN. We are seeking a friendly and efficient Café Cook to join our team.
Needed for evening cricket matches (5pm to 10pm) and weekend shifts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service within a vibrant café setting, ensuring customers enjoy a memorable experience. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who are passionate about hospitality and eager to contribute to a positive atmosphere.
We also have two other venues at Egham & Windlesham in which we alternate staff.
Responsibilities
- Greeting customers warmly and taking their orders accurately
- Preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks
- Assisting with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, or baked goods
- Cooking and preparing food
- Ensuring all food safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Serving food and drinks efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanour
- Handling cash transactions accurately using the till system
- Maintaining cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and equipment throughout shifts
- Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
- Assisting with general cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards in the café
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Previous barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to assist with food preparation efficiently and safely
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and measuring ingredients
- Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
- Friendly, approachable manner with strong communication skills
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness and service are maintained
