Now Education are currently working in partnership with a large and well-established SEND school in Leicestershire to recruit a number of SEND Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team for the new academic year.

About the Role
The successful candidates will initially be employed on a temporary contract until the Christmas break, with the potential for permanent opportunities thereafter.
The school is currently expanding and has undergone changes to its class structures, creating several long-term and permanent opportunities for individuals passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
Positions are available to start immediately and are offered on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday, 8:40am – 3:30pm.

The Ideal Candidate
We welcome applications from candidates with experience working within schools, colleges, care settings, residential settings, youth work, support work, healthcare, or other environments supporting children and young people.
You may have experience supporting individuals with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Hearing Impairments
- Visual Impairments
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Challenging Behaviour
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Complex medical and physical needs
Key Responsibilities
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assist with learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
- Encourage communication, independence and social development.
- Support pupils through play-based and structured learning activities.
- Help develop essential life skills and promote positive outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and wider support staff to deliver high-quality support.
- Contribute to creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
Due to the nature of the role and the needs of the pupils, there may be occasions where personal care and toileting support are required.
