A warm and experienced SEN Live-in Nanny/Family PA is required for a 12-year-old girl based in Wimbledon, Southwest London.
This is a rewarding but demanding role requiring a mature, organised and nurturing individual with the confidence to manage complex medical needs independently.
The girl has epilepsy and autism and has recently been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. She is relatively independent for her age but will benefit greatly from a steady presence who can provide both practical care and emotional support.
Responsibilities of the SEN Live-in Nanny/Family PA in Wimbledon, include:
Diabetes Management (Essential)
- Administering insulin injections
- Blood sugar monitoring, including overnight checks currently every 2–3 hours
- Making independent medical decisions and contacting healthcare professionals when the parent is travelling and unreachable
General Care
- Supporting the girl’s day-to-day routine with sensitivity to her autism and epilepsy
- School-day management, including cover during illness
- Driving as and when needed (automatic car provided)
Family PA duties
- Managing and coordinating medical appointments, therapist visits, and school communications
- Maintaining an organised record of medications, prescriptions, and repeat prescription requests
- Liaising with school staff regarding care plan, medical needs, and day-to-day updates
- Researching and booking activities, clubs, or therapies suited to the girl’s needs and interests
- Light household management, including keeping on top of household supplies, groceries, and errands
- Assisting with scheduling and diary management for the family when the parent is travelling
- Ad hoc administrative tasks as required, such as correspondence with medical teams or insurance providers
- Medical / SEN background or direct experience managing Autism, Epilepsy and Type 1 diabetes (strongly preferred)
- Mature, experienced, and naturally nurturing in approach
- Confident acting as the primary carer and decision-maker in the parent’s absence
- Strong ability to build trust and rapport with a child with complex needs
- A full clean driving licence
The successful candidate will have their own self-contained annexe with a private entrance, comprising of a sitting room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom (accessed via a loft ladder rather than a conventional staircase).
Live-in, five days per week including weekends. Days off provided in the mid-week.
Flexibility is required to cover school sick days when a parent is unavailable.
