Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage time effectively while adhering to delivery schedules. Experience with flatbed lorries and commercial driving is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Operate chilled and frozen trailers for the safe transportation of goods.
- Ensure timely delivery of products while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that it is secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to safety and compliance.
- Ensure vehicles are kept in a clean, presentable condition at all times.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driving licence (C+E ) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with chilled lorry operations is an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- A commitment to maintaining high safety standards on the road.
Shift Patterns Available:
- Mon - Fri (Mainly day work - 1-2 nights out a week - various trucks)
- 5 on 3 off Tramping (Own truck)
- 4 on 4 off Tramping (sharing truck)
- Casual drivers also welcome
