Hours: Shift pattern including days, nights, and weekends (average 42 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £13.17 per hour (paid hourly via clocking system)
We are seeking a professional and reliable individual to join our team as a Security Officer at the Basildon Tractor Plant. This is a key role within the site%u2019s security and plant protection team, where you will contribute to maintaining a safe, secure, and well-managed environment at all times.
You will be working as part of a dedicated team providing round-the-clock security, safety, and emergency response services across the site. Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to support different shift patterns and assist in wider facilities-related duties when needed.
About the Role
In this position, you will deliver a comprehensive security service, ensuring the safety of the site, personnel, and visitors. You will carry out regular patrols, monitor systems, and respond promptly to incidents, including fire and emergency situations.
You will be responsible for controlling access to the site, issuing passes, and greeting visitors in a professional and welcoming manner when working at the gatehouse or reception areas. You will also monitor CCTV systems and respond in line with site procedures.
As part of the wider plant protection team, you will be trained to respond to fire incidents and participate in confined space rescue situations where required.
Your role will also include key management and audits, supporting administrative tasks such as rota preparation, conference room bookings, and general operational support. You may also be required to answer the switchboard and direct calls appropriately.
What We Are Looking For
You will hold a valid Front Line SIA licence and a full UK driving licence, as operating site vehicles may be required. You must be willing and able to undertake training in fire safety and confined space rescue.
You will be able to follow procedures, including risk assessments and method statements, and demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety at all times.
You will have good communication skills and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. The role may require physical activity, including walking, bending, and lifting where necessary.
