Senior Therapeutic Care Practitioner

At Solice Care we’re looking for an experienced Senior Therapeutic Care Practitioner to join our growing team.
This is more than a senior care role. You’ll help create a safe, therapeutic home where children and young people can build trust, develop confidence and work towards a brighter future.
You’ll be a positive role model for young people and colleagues, helping lead shifts, maintain high standards of care and promote a trauma-informed approach where behaviour is communication and relationships create change.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead shifts and support the team to deliver safe, consistent and high-quality care
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people
- Model therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
- Support emotional regulation, routines, education, appointments and independence
- Promote safeguarding, positive behaviour support and effective risk management
- Complete accurate care records using ClearCare
- Support care planning and multi-agency working
- Mentor and support less experienced colleagues
- Administer medication in line with policies and procedures
- Escalate concerns appropriately and contribute to a strong safeguarding culture
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is experienced, resilient, compassionate and confident taking the lead on shift.
You’ll need:
- Level 4 Children, Young People and Families/Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare, or recognised equivalent – essential
- Experience working with children and young people in residential care or a related setting
- Experience supporting young people with complex emotional needs, challenging behaviours and heightened risks
- Knowledge/experience of DoLs and HSB
- Strong safeguarding and risk-management knowledge
- The ability to remain calm, consistent and professional in challenging situations
- Confidence supporting and guiding colleagues
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins
- Full UK driving licence where required
Desirable: Experience mentoring staff, trauma-informed/attachment-aware practice, medication administration and further relevant training.

Hours: 365-day rota, including weekends and bank holidays and sleep-ins
Salary: £36,852 – £38,412* per year (including £65 per sleep-in)
*Salary dependent on qualifications and minimum sleep-ins undertaken.

Pay: £36,852.00-£38,412.00 per hour
