The Senior Hair Stylist will be responsible for delivering high-quality hair services, promoting retail products through upselling, and maintaining the overall organisation of the salon. A strong background in colour techniques, cutting skills, styling, texturizing services, and providing an elevated personalized guest experience are highly desirable for this position.
Duties
- Providing a wide range of hair styling services including precision cutting, clipper cuts, balayage techniques, highlights, creative colour, blowouts and formal up dos.
- Mentoring junior stylists and apprentices to ensure consistent service quality and professional development.
- Managing store operations including scheduling appointments, maintaining cleanliness standards, and overseeing stock levels.
- Promote retail and treatments by educating clients on specific home care routines and upsell professional retail products, deep conditioning masks and specialised treatments.
- Engaging with clients through personalised consultations to understand their needs and recommend suitable treatments or products.
- Upselling retail products effectively to maximise sales opportunities while ensuring client satisfaction.
- Front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, managing bookings, and handling payments efficiently.
- Organising promotional events or special offers to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within the salon environment.
Experience
- Proven 5 year experience as a senior stylist.
- Extensive knowledge of advanced hair styling techniques, products and client retention.
- Demonstrable store management skills including stock control, scheduling, and organisational tasks.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse clientele.
- Experience in mentoring or training junior staff members to foster professional growth.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members alike.
- Ability to upsell products tactfully while maintaining high standards of client care.
