Priory Hospital Bristol has an opportunity for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. The role is part-time (3 days a week), days to be discussed at interview. The salary for these hours is £15,780 per annum.
Priory Hospital Bristol, Stapleton, Bristol is a specialist mental health and addiction treatment service for individuals, families and couples. It provides fast access to treatment for a range of psychiatric conditions and addictions. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes serving Stapleton and Bristol Parkway railway station approximately 2–3 miles from the hospital.
We are looking for two enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistants to join our team.
- One role will work across our Enhanced Rehabilitation and Recovery Unit and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
- The other role will be based on our Mixed Acute Ward, supporting patients with acute mental health needs.
The role focuses on supporting the assessment, care, and wellbeing of adults during a critical phase of their healthcare journey. Under the supervision of a registered occupational therapist, you will be involved in planning and delivering therapeutic groups on the wards, encouraging involvement in meaningful activity as well as facilitating community outings.
You will also be responsible for effectively and accurately updating clinical records and spreadsheets in a timely manner. This is a rewarding opportunity to support holistic, person-centred care within a nurturing environment that prioritises dignity, safety, and recovery for individuals experiencing acute cognitive and/or mental health challenges.

Essential for the role
Candidates must have GCSEs or O-Levels (grades A–C), a relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification, or equivalent practical experience.

This is an entry-level role; however, prior experience working in a health and social care setting is beneficial, alongside experience planning and facilitating group activities.
