We are looking for a warehouse operative who will be assigned to many duties including goods in, picking, packing, despatch and loading. The ideal candidate will be punctual and hardworking, ensuring all warehouse duties are completed accurately within required deadlines, in a safe manner.
Previous experience in a warehouse and forklifts would be preferred but not essential.
The primary duties will include:
- Receiving deliveries and checking quality of goods inwards, checking for any damages or missing items and reporting any discrepancies. Updating the goods in sheets of the same.
- Picking customer goods and accessories for delivery.
- Careful handling of glass mirrors.
- Package preparation to create specific packaging to protect the mirrors.
- Applying both foil, laminate and premium woven backing to mirrors.
- Packing mirrors and accessories.
- Loading and unloading of company, supplier and courier vehicles.
- Stock taking.
- Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse as part of the daily routine.
- To carry out all duties in accordance with Company’s policy on Health & Safety, wearing protective clothing at all times.
- Move stock around by hand.
- Other general warehouse duties.
The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate they have the following key skills/experience:
- Be able to communicate at a good standard of English, both written and verbal.
- Recognise that attention to detail is paramount.
- Be able to multitask in an often busy environment.
- Be reliable, professional and punctual.
- Be able to work to deadlines and under pressure.
- Be able to work both as an individual and as a part of a team.
- Be able to take care when handling fragile products.
- Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality.
- Have an aptitude for woodwork.
- Be computer literate.
- Ability to plan and organise work.
- Be physically fit.
The role will be based at our Swinton factory. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am to 4pm. The salary is £12.71 per hour with overtime available during busy periods.
