Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pastoral Tutor to support the holistic development of students through personalized mentorship and academic assistance. In this role, you will foster a nurturing environment that promotes emotional well-being, social skills, and academic success. Supporting 16-19 year olds.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions to support students’ academic progress across various subjects
- Develop tailored learning plans that address individual student needs, including those with special education requirements
- Offer emotional support and guidance to help students navigate personal challenges and build resilience
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages open communication, respect, and active participation
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to monitor student progress and implement effective support strategies
- Promote social skills development through engaging activities and mentorship programs
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, progress reports, and any concerns related to well-being or behaviour
Requirements
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, especially with children or young learners
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for supporting diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to work empathetically with children facing emotional or behavioral challenges
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple students and maintain detailed records
- Enthusiastic attitude with a genuine passion for fostering student growth and well-being
- Relevant qualifications in education, counseling, or related fields are preferred but not mandatory
