Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Activities Co-ordinator to join our team. As an Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating engaging activities for residents in our nursing home. Your role will be crucial in promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for our senior residents.
Duties:
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents
- Plan and organize group activities such as games, crafts, music therapy sessions, exercise classes, and outings
- Coordinate special events and holiday celebrations
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth execution of activities
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and staff members to assess individual needs and preferences
- Provide support and guidance to activity assistants or volunteers
Experience:
- Previous experience working as an Activities Coordinator or in a similar role within a nursing home or other care facility
- Knowledge of dementia care and experience in creating activities for individuals with memory impairments
- Familiarity with senior care regulations and guidelines
- Excellent communication skills to interact with residents, families, and staff members
- Strong organizational skills to plan and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
- Compassionate nature and a genuine interest in enhancing the quality of life for senior residents
