Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Van Delivery Driver on a self-employed basis to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering temperature controlled goods efficiently and safely to the various locations of our impressive list of clients, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and customer service, looking to contribute to a dynamic logistics operation. We are a 24/7 business and work is offered an an ad-hoc basis.
Duties
- Safely operate a company van to deliver goods to clients and designated locations within scheduled timeframes
- Load and unload items, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Communicate effectively with Operations Dept and customers regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety on the road
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, preferably with commercial driving experience
- Valid driver’s licence with a maximum of 3 points.
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and service
