About the Role
An exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant has come available. The successful candidate will provide support to the accounts team in the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Department and undertake general administrative duties as and when required.
The candidate will have a working knowledge of Sage Line 50, Eque2 (or similar job costing software), online banking, Excel, Word and Outlook. The candidate will also require knowledge of the construction industry and specifically the requirements that fall under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and have at least 2 years experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities, Accountabilities or Duties:
- Process purchase invoices on Sage Line 50 and Eque2 Construct job costing software
- Deal with CIS processing for construction subcontractors as part of the above
- Maintain complete and accurate purchase invoice files (both physical and digital)
- Process weekly payment runs from Sage and post to banking software
- Ensure that all suppliers are paid on time in accordance with agreed terms
- Perform daily bank postings and reconciliations for a number of companies
- Manage hourly paid payroll process on a weekly basis collecting time sheets and inputting data
- Input time sheet data to job costing
- Familiarisation with other roles in the department to provide cover for holidays and illness
- Other ad-hoc duties as required to support the department and wider business
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience working in an accounts office.
- Purchase ledger processing experience.
- Bank processing and reconciliation experience.
- Use of Excel spreadsheets.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above preferably including Mathematics.
- Knowledge of Sage Line 50 accounts package.
- Knowledge of Eque2 Construct Job Costing package.
- Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme.
