Summary
We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our front-of-house operation. This is not an entry-level management role—we are looking for a confident hospitality professional with proven experience managing a busy restaurant or bar.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the business, leading the team, maintaining exceptional service standards and driving operational excellence. Salary is dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of the restaurant and bar.
- Manage, motivate and develop the front-of-house team.
- Ensure every guest receives exceptional service from arrival to departure.
- Produce and manage staff rotas in line with business needs.
- Recruit, train and develop team members.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and customer service.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally.
- Manage stock control, ordering and supplier relationships.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety and licensing regulations.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure seamless service.
- Monitor labour costs, sales performance and operational efficiency.
- Lead by example and remain hands-on during busy service periods.
- Support the business with events, promotions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Take ownership of the restaurant and consistently drive high standards across the business.
Qualifications
- Essential: Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager or General Manager within a busy restaurant, bar or hospitality venue.
- A proven track record of leading and developing successful teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing labour, stock and costs.
- Thorough knowledge of food safety, licensing and health & safety legislation.
- Experience using EPOS systems and cash handling procedures.
- Ability to remain calm, organised and decisive under pressure.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
