Are you a qualified Engine Rating looking for an opportunity to work at sea while enjoying an excellent work-life balance? We are seeking a motivated Motorman (Small Ferry) to join our Western Isles Fleet.
In this vital role, you'll support the vessel's engineering operations, helping to ensure the safe, efficient and reliable running of machinery systems that keep our lifeline ferry services moving. Working closely with the engineering team, you'll play a key part in maintaining high operational and safety standards on board.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Motorman (Small Ferry), you'll assist the engineering department with day-to-day vessel operations and maintenance, including:

Supporting the Watchkeeping Engineer during engine room watches
- Maintaining machinery spaces, engine rooms and associated equipment to a high standard
- Assisting with planned maintenance of main and auxiliary machinery in line with the vessel maintenance system
- Reporting technical issues, defects and breakdowns that may affect vessel operations
- Helping to maintain safe working practices throughout the engine room and machinery spaces
- Managing waste and oil sludge disposal in accordance with environmental and company procedures
- Keeping machinery space bilges clean and well maintained
- Assisting with the preparation of overhaul and maintenance work programmes
- Supporting the upkeep of machinery spaces and voids, ensuring they remain clean, organised and presentable
- Undertaking any other duties reasonably required by the Engineer Officers or Chief Engineer
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Certification
You must hold:

Engine-room Watch Rating Certificate
- Valid ENG1 Medical Certificate (with no limitations)
- Designated Security Duties
- Fast Rescue Boats Certificate
- Passenger Safety, Cargo Safety & Hull Integrity Certificate
STCW 2010 Basic Safety Training Certificates:

Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting
- Personal Survival Techniques
- Elementary First Aid
- Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (PSSR)
- Security Awareness
- Crowd Management
- Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats
