Do you thrive on taking a great plan and making it happen, brilliantly?
Since 2006, Sweet Squared has been home to the most envied professional-only brands, and award-winning education for stylists, technicians, and therapists in the salon industry, across the UK and Ireland. We are curators, educators, and champions of the salon professional. But here is the thing that makes us different: everything we do starts and ends with Love & Respect for the professional. That is not a line on a wall. It is how we make every decision, every day.
We’re looking for an Activation Manager to join our Marketing team and step into life as a Square in our Leeds head office. This is an execution management role: the strategy is agreed with our brand teams, and your job is to deliver it flawlessly. Part orchestrator, part creative force, part calm-under-pressure conductor, fully invested in making our brands brilliant in the field. You will lead a high-performing team across Social & PR, Education Activation, and our in-house design studio, turning agreed plans into standout campaigns, live events, and education experiences that are on-brand, on-time, on-budget, and creatively excellent.
What you will actually be doing
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team across Social & PR, the in-house design studio, and Education Activation, coaching them to do their most impactful work yet.
- Orchestrate the delivery of integrated campaigns and live experiences across the agreed brand plans, keeping every channel, deadline, and budget in time to build awareness, drive engagement, and hit revenue targets across hair, skin, beauty, and nails.
- Plan, organise, and execute live events and shows from end to end, giving attendees across the UK and Ireland a premium, unmistakably Sweet Squared experience. This is event management at its sharpest.
- Bring our education to life through campaigns and events that genuinely elevate professionals, working hand in hand with the wider Education team.
- Oversee content creation, market insight, and trend tracking, so what we put out is relevant, engaging, and ahead of the curve.
- Work in close partnership with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Education to keep vision and delivery moving as one.
- Manage budgets with care, prioritising spend on the activities that move us forward, and reporting clearly on performance, forecasts, and progress.
What we need from you
- An active leader who effectively delegates & challenges your people to be their best and who thrives on effective delivery.
- A proven track record of executing integrated marketing campaigns and live events across multiple channels.
- Strong creative instincts with a meticulous eye for detail, timelines, and consistency.
- A leader who builds, coaches, and develops high-performing teams, and who manages performance promptly and fairly.
- Adaptable and agile, able to switch between tasks, teams, and priorities with energy and enthusiasm.
- Commercially minded, results-driven, and target-oriented, with a customer-centric approach that keeps the professional at the centre of everything.
- A cool head under pressure: someone who brings solutions, not problems.
- Open to growth, feedback, and development, and someone who encourages constructive challenge in others.
- Clear, confident decision-making, and the ability to influence and communicate at every level, building relationships that last.
- A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
What it is like being a Square
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 33 days plus bank holidays with length of service.
- Training and career development with exposure across the business.
- Private healthcare cashback scheme, an EAP service, and 24/7 GP appointments.
- Personal accident insurance.
- Company sick pay (subject to eligibility).
- A 5% employer pension contribution.
- A cycle-to-work scheme.
- A monthly free product allowance plus 15% employee discount online and in our Sweet Shops.
- An additional paid day off for your Square Day Anniversary.
- Square of the Month awards.
And something that does not fit in a list: you will be joining a team that genuinely cares about each other, about the professionals we serve, and about doing the right thing. We are not trying to build the biggest company. We are trying to build the best one to work with and for.
Interested? We would love to hear from you.
