The role:
This is a technically demanding and highly influential role at the heart of site operations. As the Site Services Engineering Coordinator,
you will take ownership of a complex and integrated utility infrastructure, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of steam,
energy, water, and environmental systems that are critical to production.
You will operate at the interface of engineering, compliance, and operational excellence — driving performance improvements, managing risk,
and leading the optimisation of energy and utility systems. This role offers the opportunity to work across advanced plant including CHP, waste heat recovery, industrial boilers, and sophisticated water and effluent treatment systems.
You will be expected to follow a Eeliest/Lates shift rotation:
- Earliest: 06:00 – 13:30, Monday to Friday
- Lates: 13:15 – 21:15, Monday to Thursday, and 13:15 – 18:45 on Friday
What you’ll be doing:
- Full responsibility for the operation, safety, and compliance of site utility systems including steam, CHP, water treatment, and effluent processes
- Lead engineering reliability across all utility assets, driving preventive maintenance strategies, breakdown response, and structured root cause analysis
- Ensure strict compliance with statutory and industry standards including BG01, PSSR, WSE, environmental permits, and inspection requirements
- Optimise energy and utility performance, focusing on reducing consumption of gas, water, and electricity while improving CHP and steam efficiency
- Manage cooling, HVAC, boiler, and water treatment systems including chemical dosing, Legionella control, and environmental monitoring
- Oversee safe systems of work including permits, risk assessments, and operational governance across all utility operations
- Support capital investment projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site performance and reliability
What you’ll need:
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 in Engineering discipline
- BOAS (with BOAS Manager experience preferred)
- IOSH qualification (essential)
- Highfield Level 3 Legionella (preferred)
- Strong experience in utilities and process environments
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
- Self-motivated and be able to work with limited instruction.
