HFF Civil Engineering Ltd is a family-run civil engineering business based in Cambois, Bedlington. We operate a fleet of 20 HGVs—including 8-wheelers, artics, and a skip wagon—and maintain a continually expanding range of plant and machinery used both for our own operations and available for hire.
We are now seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and fully qualified HGV / Heavy Plant Fitter to join our busy team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a key role within a well-established company, working from our fully equipped on-site workshop.

Role Responsibilities
- Maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of HGVs and heavy plant machinery
- Ensuring all equipment is safe, compliant, and operating efficiently
- Carrying out routine servicing and inspections
- Responding to breakdowns, working both in the workshop and occasionally on-site
- Completing job records and maintaining high standards of workmanship
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HGV or Heavy Plant Fitter/Technician
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, using your own initiative
- Knowledge of tracked and wheeled plant, crushers, screens, and heavy goods vehicles
- Full UK HGV licence essential; Class 1 an advantage
- Experience with MAN trucks beneficial
- Good communication and organisational skills
